Book Cover Fail: Catching Memories by Kracken

So, here is today's cover fail, and we will admit it appears to be a BIG fail.  First, we have to take the opportunity to ask why someone would take a pen name that is named after a mythological monster. We did have trouble making that connection. I have added a fantastic image of what Kracken may have looked like. And now you can understand our dilemma. WHY would you do that????
On to the book cover fail, the reason we are all here.
Take note of the blurb first, as you begin to peruse this fascinating specimen of a cover.

Blurb:
Jaime Harper was at the top of his game as an elite agent in a special forces unit, but his personal life was running on empty. When he's given the opportunity to join a new team and realize a few lifelong dreams, he doesn't realize that one of those dreams has to do with a high school crush named Elijah Ito. Finding out that the dark and handsome man he had loved and lusted over was his new partner wasn't the problem. Understanding why the man seemed to hate his guts was.

We are just not sure how the above blurb and the cover itself match, but perhaps that will be shown to the reader shortly after beginning this 170 page book.

Why is this a book cover fail, you might ask?

First, you will notice that Blondie has had his arm completely photoshopped off. Now, perhaps he is one armed in the book, although if he is on the special forces team, it does seem unlikely. But to photoshop that crap right off the picture? No.

Second, are Blondie's eye color real? I believe those may be colored contacts, just sayin.

Third, how about that tattoo? It definitely looks...well, no other way to say it, but WEIRD!!! It's not a tattoo as much as one of those window clings you put up to catch the sunlight. But thank goodness you can still see his one nipple...because the other one was photoshopped off along with his arm.

Brunette guy...can't say a whole log about him, because it appears he might have two arms...yes, only one nipple, but we can hope...

Lastly, the necklaces are the final WTF! We are thinking A) would you see ANY special forces unit wearing those? and B) they are quite badly photoshopped in. It almost seems like Brunette guys are in 3D, just hovering over his body.

However, what we do like....the waves crashing behind them, just under the sunset. Definitely keep that.

As always, the disclaimer is that we have no commentary on the book itself, as we have not read it, but if the cover and blurb are eye catching for you, check out the purchase link.
